Halloween Fun! That has been our motto for the past week. Making, creating and spending time together. We were inspired to make our Silly Pine Cone Ghost Family after making our Happy Pumpkin Family. Bianca collects pine cones everywhere she goes, the park, school just about anywhere she can find one on the ground. We store them in our craft drawer and we always have them on hand when we get inspired. This is another fun, easy and inexpensive craft to do at home with your child with minimal items. Join me again soon for another Halloween craft as we add to our Halloween families.
What I loved about this craft is that your child will learn patience and learn detail when painting in between all the pine cone leaves. The use of scissors, again strengthens their hands to help make other tasks easier for them. Being creative in making the shapes of the eyes and mouth, making their ghost family come to life. Remember to always use supervision with scissors and adults should always use the hot glue gun as the tip becomes very hot!
Items needed: Pine cones (a variety of sizes), white paint, paint brushes, googley eyes, black foam paper, scissors and hot glue gun.
Paint your pine cones with white paint, let dry.
Cut circles or other shapes from your black foam paper large enough for the back drop of the googley eyes. Using your hot glue gun, glue the eyes onto the black foam shapes. When dry, glue onto the pine cones.
Cut different shapes for the mouths and glue onto the pine cones.
